Out into the Wild

Arwen at the Ford of Bruinen by Anne Devan

With Gandalf failing to arrive to help Frodo on with his quest the strange Strider takes the hobbits out into the wild. With the nine dangerous Ring-wraiths hot on the tail of the Ring-bearer the Ranger leads them through the wilderness which he knows so well.
His aim is to deliver the hobbits safely to Elrond in Rivendell, the Elven Safe Haven, however, as usual, not all goes to plan. One night, when the travellers rest at the great watch tower of Amon-Sūl, better known as Weathertop, they are attacked by the Nazgūl and Frodo is stabbed by a Morgul blade.
If it were not for the aid of an Elven Rider Frodo would have surely become a wraith like the Nazgūl, luckily the rider bore Frodo swiftly to Elrond in Rivendell who was able to heal him and save his life.
