Legolas Greenleaf
"... you have my bow..."
Legolas

Prince Legolas Greenleaf, son of King Thranduil of the Woodland Realm of Mirkwood, is the fair Elf who attends the Council of Elrond and becomes the representative of the Elves in the Fellowship of the Ring which sets out from Rivendell on the quest to destroy the One Ring.
At the Council of Elrond it is Legolas who reveals Strider's true identity as Aragorn, the orphaned heir to the Gondorian throne. Legolas is, of course, happy to serve in the Fellowship alongside such a noble man, although he is less pleased to have to share his journey with Gimli - a Dwarf. It is a well known fact that the fair Elves and stubborn Dwarves do not get along.
Legolas pledges his bow to Frodo Baggins when he offers to travel with him in the Fellowship of the Ring. He is an expert bow-man and has keen eyesight which will be useful as he attempts to protect the small Ring-bearer in his travels. He can also travel great distances quickly leaving no footprints and without tiring, although this may be something of an annoyance to his fellow travellers, especially heavy-footed Dwarf Gimli and proud Gondorian Boromir.
